Rosehill overs: Snowden mare to receive heavy support

AARON Macey has cast his eye over the markets for Saturday's racing at Rosehill Gardens to identify the early overs and unders.

ROSEHILL GARDENS

Rail Position: +3m entire circuit

Track Condition: Soft 7

Track Type: Turf

Weather: Fine

Track comment (Dallas Baker): Since the completion of the Golden Slipper carnival, the lanes have been less of a factor at Rosehill Gardens despite long stretches of wet weather. It is still a slight advantage to race four to eight metres off the fence (Rail true) in the straight but the track is as fair as it has been in recent memory. Punters should expect a track in the 'old Dead range' on Saturday and with the rail out three metres, expect horses one to five metres off the fence to enjoy the best ground - but it won't be impossible to win hard against the rail.

Overs

Race 4 – Extensible @ $3.20

Promising, lightly-raced mare that was a run short first-up but could not be happier with her effort, hitting the line strongly from back in the field. Paraded as though she would come on nicely from the run and be ready to win second-up. Stepping up to the 1500m will allow her to settle much closer and likely sit just on the leaders back and take a stack of beating. Expect her around the $2.5 mark.

John Walter's sets are starting to build momentum into the Spring and he's ready to build the bank a little more on Saturday. Jump on board with his full set here!

Race 7 – Sacred Master @ $21

Highly talented Kiwi stayer that has joined the C.Waller camp and comes to the races with just the one rather impressive barrier trial. Wasn’t asked to do a whole lot early but really liked the way he found the line in the straight under hold, and really worked nicely through the line starting to get warm late. The Kiwi form held up very strongly throughout the Autumn and Winter Carnivals and I think this bloke could be another to follow. Expect him to start around the $14 mark.

Unders

Race 4 – Lycia @ $5.5

Rather consistent mare that races close to the mark in midweek company. Good effort last start but will have to find another gear or two to be winning here up in grade against a couple of genuine Saturday class mares. Also not convinced she will run the 1500m out either. Happy to go around her at the price.
