HE’S described it as the acid test for a boom horse – but can Esteban prove professional punter John Walter wrong and collect a fourth-straight win?
The John Sargent-trained three year old stayer is the $1.60 favourite for Race Two at Rosehill Gardens, a Benchmark 82 race over 2000m.
He has won each of his last three starts, all over this trip, by a combined 20 lengths.
But rising in class again today, Walter believes the price on offer is much too short with tougher questions set to be asked of him.
“We have a smaller field for the stayers this time and now boom horse Esteban makes an appearance.
“He has dominated his last three starts with 7 length victories on average in Class 1, Class 2 and Benchmark 73 company.
“This race is much deeper than the last he contested and he will also get company on the speed.
“Without doubt, this is the acid test today.”
With doubts about the favourite, Walter has elected to look elsewhere is his betting plan for this race, which has been sent to full set subscribers this morning.
It is not too late to join forces with John Walter and secure his full assessments for today’s Rosehill meeting.
