Overs

Race 3 – CANNYESCENT @ $4

Highly talented, lightly raced sprinter that appears to a have returned a much more furnished gelding this time in with two impressive barrier trial performances. I was rather taken with his most recent trial win when settling at the tail of the field. He was given a good shake up to put the field away in a couple of strides - really liked the way he ran away from them before being eased up on the line. He finds a somewhat week three-year-old contest where he will only need a little bit of luck from the inside draw to be winning here.

Race 5 – THUNDER DOWN UNDER @ $6.50

Liked the look of this bloke from the trials and was rather impressed by his two wins in New Zealand prior to joining the Chris Waller stable. He appears to have good tactical speed as he led all the way in one win and came from the tail in another. The 1550m will suit him down to the ground and the booking of Hugh Bowman is a positive lead to his chances.

Unders

Race 3 – DEE NINE ELLE @ $3.20

Impressed when dictating and controlling the pace all the way with a five length win last start at Canterbury. She doesn’t look to get the same easy lead as she did last start, with more pace on paper Saturday and feel she will have to go to another level again to be beating a couple of talented young males. Expecting money for Cannyescent and Art Nouveau should see her starting much longer.
