About Us

The Punters Show with Marc Lambourne, Glenn Pollett and Dallas Baker prides itself as being the most informative, contoversial, educational, entertaining and politically incorrect racing show.

Beginning on Racenet in 2009, the Punters Show is now run independently of any media organisation, freeing up its ability to delve further into the issues and say it even more how it is.

There are now two weekly editions of the Punters Show with a in-depth preview show added to the original.

The original will now be online of a Monday afternoon, and will continue to take up the fight for the most important and often most neglected group in racing – punters.

It is the punters who ultimately finance the great racing industry and The Punters Show aims to raise and dissect the vast amount of topics that are vital to those investing, whether on a professional or social level.

Nothing is held back with their great insight into betting on horse racing with many laughs along the way.

The preview, online Friday lunchtime, is the most cutting-edge, educated and informed of its type.

Lambourne and Pollett break down the races like no other pair as they seriously, and sometimes heatedly, debate Saturday's racing.

It is a must for anyone looking for a professional edge from the experts.

Whilst each member of The Punters Show is different in their own way they share a common passion for the racing industry and all have a major amount of irreverence. They each are bringing “colourful” back to the racing identity.

When it comes to different, there aren’t many more so than Glenn Pollett.

Pollett has been in the Sydney betting ring for over 30 years, punting, bookmaking and surviving, and is regarded as one of the best judges of horses’ appearance in the mounting yard.

Legendary bookmaker Rob Waterhouse regards him as the “finest assesses of ringcraft” of his era.

“The mounting yard can be your only hope,” Pollett says.

“I look at key negative areas that others don’t that, over years of studying, I have found that if horses show them they simply don’t run up to their best.

Pollett travels to all the metropolitan and provincial meetings, as well as many country meetings, plying his trade and giving him a first-hand knowledge on the majority of horses engaged in the meetings he covers.

“I know all the horses backwards and can get a fantastic edge from the mounting yard on whether they are likely to perform at their best by the way they are parading.”

Pollett’s mounting yard mail has been available for subscribers since early 2010 and he has proved himself not only to find consistently good priced winners, but also bag short priced favourites that invariably get beat.

On top of his punting exploits, Pollett is one of the true characters of Sydney racing.

Raw and hilarious, he is much loved amongst the hard-core and punters everywhere for the strong opinions that he is never afraid to voice.

“I don’t care who they are, if a jockey has ridden a bad race or an official has done what I think isn’t right, I will let them know.

“More people should, the world is becoming far too sanitised.”

Like Glenn Pollett, Marc Lambourne has been working the Sydney ring as a punter and bookmaker for over 30 years and today, apart from his own exploits, works as the aforementioned Rob Waterhouse’s right hand man.

Lambourne’s forte is the art of form study and price assessing, and he articulates it like no other.

His “Pearls Of Wisdom” segment on The Punters Show provides an amazing insight into the theories of the expert punter.

“Knowing Marc I shouldn’t be surprised, but I thought he would run dry after the first couple of weeks,” Pollett said.

“It’s astonishing the knowledge he has about the form; I doubt anyone has greater.”

Whilst being the ‘straighter’ personality of the trio, Lambourne is no stranger to controversy.

He was a regular on 2KY’s Saturday morning show, until on the edge comments saw him removed from the station.

He has also had to face stewards inquiries over some of the views he has raised.

“I relish my role as a passionate racing enthusiast in the media, unlike much of the dispassionate crap you are forced to endure,” Lambourne said.

Lambourne’s unquestionable knowledge and thirst for the form is equalled by his ardour for the game.

“It is the greatest intellectual challenge that I know,” he said

“It is a rigorous game that has an adrenaline rush that is addictively captivating.”

Baker has been going to races since he was in a pram and has spent the majority of his working life in the racing media.

Like Marc and Glenn, he is also never afraid to voice his opinion, even if it means pissing people off.

“I find it funny that the amount of people that come up and say what a great show The Punters Show is because we say it how it is without fear or favour,” Baker said.

“Then they want to have a cry when it is their turn or a sector they are involved to face the music and then we are no good!

“In saying that, one of the many great things about the industry are the people involved and whether they are giving it to us, or praising us, it is always enjoyable.”

Baker has been the anchor and driving force behind The Punters Show since its inception.

"Whilst we might ruffle a few feathers, overall we do this because we actually give a shit and want to see the industry be as good as it can be," he said.
